Personal Pronouns

Pronouns are small words that take the place of a noun. We use a pronoun to replace a noun. They help us to reduce or eliminate repetition . A pronoun usually refers to someone or something already mentioned .
Subject Pronouns

Subject pronouns are used as subjects.
I/you/we/they/he/she/it    cooked the meat.


Object Pronouns

Object pronouns are used as objects.

Possessive Adjectives

Possessive adjectives are used to show possession. They are followed by a noun.
This is my/your/our/their/his/her/ its    house.


Possessive Pronouns

Possessive pronouns are used to show possession. They are NOT followed by a noun.
Whose house is this? It is mine/yours/ours/theirs/his/hers/it's (the dog's).


Reflexive Pronouns

Reflexive pronouns are used to show that someone affected by an action is the same person/thing doing the action.
I, you, we, they, he, she, it saw myself/yourself/ourselves/themselves/himself/herself/itself in the mirror.

Subject Pronouns I threw the basketball. He threw the basketball.
Object Pronouns I threw the basketball to him.We threw the basketball to them.
Possessive AdjectivesI threw my basketball to him.You threw your basketball to her.
Possessive PronounsThe basketball is mine. It is mine.The basketball is ours. It is ours.
Reflexive PronounsI threw the basketball (by) myself. She threw the basketball herself.
